Join Us in New York on April 29

Tennessee Williams was Marc Posnock’s babysitter. In the fall of 1963, Marc’s grandfather was dying of lung cancer at Memorial Hospital in New York, where he shared a room with Frank Merlo, William’s lover.

Children were not allowed into such rooms and Tennessee offered to sit in the lobby with Marc so both parents could visit. Marc was seven and had no idea who Williams was. As an adult, he came to realize that what had been going on in the hospital room upstairs would change many lives.

On April 29, Marc will be telling his story, which has been turned into a monologue directed by Festival curator David Kaplan. They have been working on this project for over a year.
